Buy from a responsible breeder! What does that mean? A breeder should at a minimum present OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) results on hips to rule out hip dysplasia and eye certification (ECR/CERF). Additionally, the majority of responsible breeders test for the following genetic disorders: MDR1 (ivermectin sensitivity) PRCD (progressive rod cone degeneration, HC (hereditary cataracts, and DM (degenerative myelothapy). Our dogs are also tested for CDDY and NAD newer genetic tests.
